Jax is a sweet, energetic boy around 4-6 years old. He is all muscle surrounded by fluffy sweetness. We found him as a stray in December of 2014 with a collar but no tags. We searched for his family for weeks before we decided to permanently take him in. He has not been microchipped, and he unfortunately is not updated on all of his shots, and he has not been neutered, but he is bathed regularly as he stays outside. He likes to climb our chain link fence, but he is well behaved when it comes to staying around our yard. He has so much energy and we have had some trouble with jumping and control. He knows how to sit, shake and lay down, and he comes when called (most of the time). He loves to snuggle, and although he stays outside the majority of the time, the times he has been inside he is well behaved, calm, and stays right with his human at all times. He would be well suited for being an inside and outside dog. He is terrified of any loud noises, such as fireworks, thunderstorms, and anything else startling. In the case of thunderstorms or fireworks, he will not leave his human’s side. He is friendly towards everyone he meets, as long as he sees them as a friend first, but he can be protective (lots and lots of barking) towards people he sees as a threat. He has never bitten anyone. We have 2 other dogs that he gets along fine with, and although he can be a little heavy-pawed, he is great around kids. All he wants to do is play fetch, run, snuggle, and play with our lab mix, Muffin. He has never been around cats since we’ve had him, but he would honestly probably be scared of them. Due to him climbing our fence and not staying in the backyard, we have had to keep him on a lead, which he cannot stand most of the time because of the amount of energy he has. He does bark quite frequently if he wants to get off the lead. He is probably the sweetest and most loving animal I have ever had, and I have had several dogs throughout my life. I am also a pet sitter, so I have come in contact with a lot of dogs, and Jax is one in a million. He is strong, loving, sweet, energetic, goofy, playful, and very, very loyal.

This is very hard to write, as I have never had to give up a dog before. I selfishly do not want to give him up at all, but it is not fair to Jax to keep him tied up. He is not that kind of dog. We cannot give him all of the attention he deserves, and he deserves the world. He would be great with a family with energetic children, a couple who would take him running with them, or somewhere with a lot of space for him to run. We have done everything we can to try and keep him, as he is one of the family, but he is becoming more and more of a hassle to my mom (who is 60 with bad knees), and to our neighbors. We do NOT want to take him to a shelter, and I'm hoping to find him a great home where he can get all the love and attention he not only needs, but very much deserves.
